I've been thinking of going to this show, but don't have anyone to go with. Thought it might be fun to make a date out of it!
If we hit it off then cool. And if not, we'll still get a cool show and some company/conversation out of it.
I've been a Dirty Projectors fan for probably a decade and a half now. At one point they were one of my favorite / most listened to bands. Have tried hunting down as many unreleased tracks and rare b-sides as I can find and all that. I haven't paid as close attention to them the past few years, but I've always been a fan of Dave Longstreth's composing work, so when I saw he was premiering an orchestral song cycle with the LA Philharmonic I was psyched! I'm also a long time fan of Mount Eerie, so having Phil Elverum open the show makes it a must see for me.
A bit about me: I'm a filmmaker, set designer, writer, artist, and teacher. Definitely the bookish, artsy type. Leftist. Dilettante. Goofball. Fan of used bookstores, fair isle sweaters, picnics, karaoke, cooking, arthouse films and old Hollywood screwball comedies. Music lover (obviously) but don't really see live shows often. I'm 5'9", slim, white, wavy brown hair and glasses, bit of a babyface.
If this sounds like a fun idea to you, shoot me a message, let me know a little about yourself, and tell me your favorite Dirty Projectors song. 😊 Your pic gets mine.
