Question about salary
Post Body

I am currently in a stage where I’m not sure if I do want to renew my contract for next school year or not (depending on how the rest of this semester goes). It’s still all a big MAYBE at this point, but, if I choose not to renew, when would my last paycheck be? This is in connection to the 2023-2024 contract.

I was speaking with my coworker, and she said it would be July 5th and technically in August, if I’m paid then, I would have to give/pay that back if I choose not to come back next year. I’m just a little confused about that part.

I only want to know so I do have the opportunity to plan in advance, should I choose to leave the profession, even if it’s only for the time being. Thanks!!

So if I don’t renew for next year 2024-2025, my last paycheck would be July 5th? It’s a bit confusing for me 🤣

Thanks. So if I choose not to renew for next school year (2024-2025), I should still be paid until August - last paycheck for July? At my old district, August was the last one before I transitioned over but, like I said, I just want to make sure. I believe the last day to renew/not renew for next school year is June 30. Again, it’s all up in the air right now and not a done deal, but I want to know in case I end up not returning.
