Google Pay / Samsung Pay - which ones work here best?

Hi everyone,
Visiting the country in a few days. Since I get visa on arrival as a UAE resident, does anyone know if the immigration will accept 50 dollars as cash or can I use a VISA card via Google Pay & Samsung Pay?
Also, should I be changing AED to SOM at the airport or better to do it at an exchange house?
