This may be quite rightly be shot down as a stupid post given the current global pandemic. However, having suffered a lot this year personally due to covid-19 and taking into account Swedens different approach to their anti-virus measures I am asking anyway, in case by some chance this potentially once in a lifetime journey is still possible.
My wife and I have flights booked mid-June with SAS from Manchester to Stockholm. Then with Direktflyg onto Hemavan. Accommodation with STF in Hemavan first night ready for a Northbound journey to Abisko.
Having looked at the STF site they state: "Most of STFβs accommodations that should be open this time of year remain open.
When it comes to local events, it is for each local chapter to decide whether they can safely carry out their activities, considering the corona outbreak. Please contact your local chapter to find out if events you want to attend may be affected."

This provides some hope, but also doubt as the kungsleden covers so many sections. The key questions and doubts that come to mind:
will the flights go ahead? If not, will we get our money back? SAS will be more robust, but Direktflyg - a tiny plane into the artic circle??? STF clearly state we will not receive compensation for accommodation booking.
will all the STF huts be open? Not entirely necessary to complete the kungsleden but certainly helps with resupply and support.
will the boat crossings be operational? Some are STF, some are private, understandably people may be unwilling to operate which could leave us stuck at the waters edge.
Finally, given the situation and the fact all thru-hikes in the USA for example are pretty much cancelled for 2020 due to risk and responsibility, should we just forget about it?
The brain has a good idea of the answer to this one but I would really appreciate anyone with local information or knowledge to provide a definitive answer if possible so we can accept things and move on.
As I say it's been a difficult year personally, I know it surely has been much worse for others. Just reaching out for opinions and information, which would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and all the best.
