Can anyone suggest a code editor that supports the Kotlin syntax? I am still a little to green to be working in a IDE like Android Studio and would prefer to 'hard code' in something similar to the windows application Code Writer and then build my android app from a .kt file. The problem I'm seeing is Code Writer supports creating a new Java file but not a new Kotlin file. Or is the IntelliJ IDE simply more user friendly than Android Studio.
-- Edit I Thank you all, let me add some clarity I have Android Studio and chose Virtual Code Studio for an secondary editor environment I will this post and thread up for posterity as all your answers have been helpful no further comments are necessary.
