Haven't been keeping up with the news, only reason I know there's been a shooting is cause the gun control debate's all over Reddit.
New co-worker mentions it (total SJW, admitted social democrat, got mad when I denied having "privilege"), tells me this is the "18th shooting in 2018". I literally raise my eyebrows and tell her "I'm skeptical of that." she insists that it's true and says "I heard it from a... good source." I ask who and she says "One of my friends is part of a gun control advocacy group who keeps track of these things". I smile and tell her "That makes me even more doubtful". I ask her why we haven't heard about it in the news and she says "We just don't care anymore". The conversation ends there and today I saw the Matt Christiansen video which mirrors my reaction point for point:

It's spooky. These people walk the planet and I have met one.
EDIT: Sorry, the topic is about school shootings, specifically.
UPDATE: I showed her the Matt Christiansen video, she said it was "interesting".
