It's been a year since the first official English Assassination Classroom release! Woohoo! Viz, even though I rip on you a lot, I still love you.

Also, I'd like to make some corrections to my last post. I thought Shindou was punning off of "son," but upon rereading, it seems he's punning off of "principal." So no inconsistencies, but still an unnecessary line. And despite what I said, I still feel like I came off as too vitriolic, so I'll try to tone it down from now on.

So, to the table of contents we... oh dear. Ohhhhh dear. Chapter titles. Oh, the chapter titles. This is gonna be a fun one...

Time for the Five Major Subjects: Everything looks fine here. Next!

Time for Setbacks: Oh, it's ten billion again. You're talking about yen, right? Please tell me you don't mean dollars. But Korosensei's speech in this chapter was amazing. Mr. Miyaki made it sound really, really cool. Good job!

Time for Vacation: Sigh, once again circumventing the word "bitch." But I'll let it slide since it's way too late to reintroduce it now. It had to be there from the very beginning, or else it wouldn't make sense.

Spending Time in Nature: See what I mean about the chapter titles? And yup, they're mentioning "ten dollars" in the same bubbles as "ten billion [no specified currency]." If they mean that the way I'm taking it, then they've increased the bounty by a factor of a hundred. Perfeeeeeect. ...Guys, come on. Just say Okajima sounds cool. This is a Shonen Jump Advanced title, so you can get away with that stuff. If you can show Shokugeki's stuff in SJA, you can say Okajima's porn speech is cool in SJA.

Plotting and Planning Time: WHOA! MS. BITCH! THEY CALLED HER MS. BITCH! WITH A B! HOLY- I thought they were just sticking with "Vitch" until the end of time, but I guess they had a change of mind? Even though this is inconsistent with previous volumes, I'll overlook it because it's a character name. Now if only they could work up the courage to use "bitch" when describing her, even though it's slightly inaccurate... And they translate "Shinigami" as "Grim Reaper," which... I guess I can accept. At least it sounds more menacing than Funimation's "Reaper." Moving on!

On Island Time: Blah blah chapter title, you know the spiel. And they... actually left Korosensei's cosplay joke intact. Wow. They did make it way, way too wordy, though.

Time to Take Action: Everything checks out. Next!

Time for a Surprise: This is a nice chapter title. Not the most direct translation, but very accurate and sounds better. Also, why are you using inches in this chapter when you used kilometers per hour in a previous chapter? Oh well.

It's Pandemonium Time: Was the "it's" really nece- oh forget it.

Preview of volume 8: I would say this makes it too obvious who the mastermind is, but let's be honest. It was obvious from the moment his silhouette was revealed.

All in all, this volume's okay. In terms of quality, I'll rate it somewhere between volumes 5 and 6. Viz, you're getting better, but please, just take it easy on the chapter titles. You don't need to go so crazy about them! In fact, it's better if you don't!
