Nts-1 Ribbon Keyboard Bugs

Hi,
I recently picked up an Nts-1 to mess with because it looks really promising with a lot of control in one package.
After assembling it I've been getting a very persistent hardware issue with the ribbon keyboard.
Whenever I release a note on it it automatically plays the lowest A note for a split second and then releases it. I've tried recalibrating it multiple times with even worse results (it now continuously triggers when I touch the strip lightly anywhere) and I was wondering if anyone else has had the same issue and/or maybe found a solution?
Any help would be appreciated!
