Has anyone else had a digital clock (not on a smart device) read an hour behind?

So my mom lives in Lenoir. I give them a call, and I'm just chatting them up when they tell me that they had something weird with some kind of time jump happen.

They tell me that they wake up this morning and are just chilling in the living room when they look at their clock. It says 10:30. They think it's a little unusual for them to be up that early but it is what it is. Well they check their phone, and their phone says it's 11:30.

Strange, but power could've been out between 12am and 1am, resetting the clock to 12 when power comes on at 1.

Well, my stepdad gets a call from his coworker saying she thinks she might be a little late. He asks her about it and she says shes supposed to be in at 3pm. He tells her she will definitely be late then because it is 2:58. Shes confused, cuz her digital clock says it's 1:58.

She lives in Knoxville. And again, my mom lives in Lenoir. If power has gone out where my mom is, then the coworker who lives in Knoxville wouldn't even be on the same grid, much less be on the same lines. And obviously the same is true vice versa.

Sooo, whats going on? Daylight savings time change doesn't happen until September... And even if it did we would go back and hour, not forward as this situation would indicate.

I saw someone posted some strange orbs yesterday as well... Could this be related?

Anyone else have something similar?
