Masonic lodge and the props
Post Body

Sorry I didn't see a thread for the episode I'm not used to using the official reddit app yet so if this is not a reason for a new thread I apologize.

But during the episode today they talked about the guillotine and props in the Masonic temple and it reminded me of something I experienced with the masons and I think it's pretty interesting and could see how it would be perfect for someone with Alexs worldview.

So a buddy of mine worked at a Masonic temple as a dishwasher. They would rent out the place for events and then he'd come like once every two weeks or so and just wash up all the dishes at once usually over night when nobody was there. One night he called me up at like 2 am and asked me to come over and hang out with him while he worked and smoke some herb with him. So I go over and we get to talking about the place and he said wanna take a tour?

This building was so crazy on the inside. There was hidden doors with no handles and straight Scooby Doo shit. We found one hidden door that was cracked open and we went in and there was a really old library with tons of old books and art.

Behind another cracked hidden door we came out on a balcony with a huge meeting hall and Egyptian art and hieroglyphics all over the place. In the middle of the room was an Egyptian statue of (I think) Anubis. There was also a large throne like seat. The room and balcony had like theatre type seating and in the arm rest of each chair had a name engraved with their occupation. I saw some pretty rich and powerful local names on there. We tried to find the way into the actual meeting hall below but we couldnt. We did find a hidden door that we thought may go there but we couldn't figure out how to open it.

We found some other cool rooms too but nothing like what I said above. The whole experience was pretty creepy and it felt like we were being watched the whole time. I've googled Masonic temples since and have seen some pretty similar things.

I can def see how someone would think there was some crazy stuff going on in there though.

Overall a neat experience though.
