This guide assumes that you're going to read all the tutorials and have some experience with hero collector games.

A.)Starting Out

  1. If you want to reroll, reroll for Rue. She's pretty much the most useful unit in the game across all content.
  2. Do the hardest difficulty of the Rune Dungeon a few times and equip your heroes full sets of 5~6 star runes. Don't worry about the substats yet.
  3. Clear all story content until 10-11 Normal.
  4. Backtrack your Missions and clear them after doing dailies. Clear Hard story one by one when asked to by your Mission Diary.
  5. Level up all heroes (1-3 star and 4-6 star versions) in the game to max at least once for free gems.
  6. The only worthy upgrade in Town is the Gold Mine.
  7. Keep at least one copy of each SR at 5 star. They might be useful in future advents.

B.)Daily Resource Management

  1. Do the current event quests. Don't neglect the achievements for quests that you can accomplish for free gems.
  2. Do the current Advent SSRs and SRs. If you have an overflow of SR advent units, limit doing them when it's 1/2 energy off.
  3. Do the current Growth Events. Always reset Gold and Evo dungeon during 2x drops.
  4. Do the rest of the daily stuff like Bounty List, 10 Arena Wins, Guild Dungeon, Boss Dungeon and the weekly Timespace Void.
  5. Grind Essence and Rune Dungeon on event days with the rest of your stamina. I dump all of my stamina potions on the Rune Dungeon.
  6. Grind Story Normal 11-10 as it yields a healthy balance of XP and Gold per energy. Only do this when there are not events.
  7. Grind 1 star R advents for 4* fodder and more Gold. Only do this when you're satisfied with your account Rank but I would suggest getting Rank 300 ASAP.

C.)Gacha Heroes

You should rush getting these three heroes to Level 60 and 4 purple stars. I would even say don't touch any other heroes (aside from Advent SSRs) until you have these three raised up. They're going to help you clear most PvE content and allow you to have a strong and consistent arena team as well.

  1. Rue - The most widely utilized healer in the game in PvE and is also a solid arena character. She might lack cosnsitent healing but her aggressive kit makes up for it. Her S3 revive allows you to make most DPS race advents consistent all the way to saving your whole team from wiping. Partnered with Sid's consistent healing and shields, they make a solid team that helps your team survive through it all.
  2. Amon - The most overpowered hero in the game by a longshot. All tanks share the same base stats, but currently Amon is the only one that has access to Evasion which is by far the strongest survival stat in the game. He's also the most offensive tank in the game, giving your team a 30% damage increase and a 100% counterattack buff on his S2. He's also the deadliest Tank in PvP because he can abuse his S3 on predictable AI. He also applies resolve to save an ally from death. If these qualities weren't enough, he goes first 80% of the time, bypassing the need for Attack Speed runes so he can focus on other stats.
  3. Morrigan - Probably the most popular DPS in the game. The first character to have a loaded kit, which even got upgraded by a costume. She's here because she's the most reliable Gacha DPS in SR and SSR advents which I'll be explaining more later.

The rest of the gacha heroes are substitutes or have very specific roles in specific content. Top teams in World Boss and Arena can give you lots of information.

D.)Advent Heroes

These are event heroes that you can acquire when you beat them. Beating your first one all depends on how good your gacha heroes are. But once you get your first one, especially Sid, the rest become more accessible. These three are the ones that you must raise as soon as you get them. They're pretty good against other Advent SSRs and in Arena as well.

  1. Sid - Arguably the best healer in the game in terms of keeping your team alive. Paired with Rue, these two can keep your team alive through anything.
  2. Taiyo - The strongest single target DPS in the game. He's strong by himself and doesn't really need anyone else to get himself going. He doesn't have any other gimmick other than making himself a bit tankier. If you can click on a target, Taiyo can surely destroy it.
  3. Kristian - The hero with the limitless potential. The more buffs he has, the more damage he does. He's also pretty tanky because he's a hybrid, but that does't really limit his damage potential. All his attacks also deal Penetration damage, which goes through shields.

E.)Ticket Heroes

These are heroes that you will eventually get by just passively playing the game and earning currency to summon them. They're all pretty solid characters, and their skills will be pretty easy to max out becuase of how easy it is to get dupes.

  1. Ian - The Guild Battle ticket hero. He's a pretty OK tank that can Solo Taiyo under the right cirumstances. His kit is pretty good at protecting his party, but not protecting himself. His skills are also more on the offensive side, which doesn't help too much in keeping himself alive.
  2. May - The Arena ticket hero. She's a solid nuker but doesn't really have enough to get a spot on a tier 1 team.
  3. Cheshire - The Guild Dungeon ticket hero. She's a PvP set-up nuker and is all about going first. She relies a lot on the rest of your team being able to carry her because she doesn't really deal that much damage. Other than PvP, she doesn't really have any other use.

G.)Runes

Crit Chance, Multistrike, Counterattack, and EVA have a 75% hard cap. Take this into consideration when equipping runes.

Here are the possible substats that you can get per rune.

Slot 1 and 2

Attack Speed (Rare)

Crit Chance (Rare)

Crit Damage (Uncommon)

HP Increase (Common)

ACC (Common)

Slot 3

EVA (Rare)

Multistrike (Uncommon)

Counterattack (Rare)

HP Increase (Common)

HP Recovery (Common)

Slot 4

EVA (Rare)

ATK (Common)

Multistrike (Uncommon)

Counterattack (Rare)

HP Recovery (Common

Slot 5

EVA (Rare)

ATK (Rare)

Counterattack (Uncommon)

HP Recovery (Common)

ACC (Common)

Slot 6

Attack Speed (Rare)

ATK (Rare)

Crit Chance (Common)

Crit Damage (Uncommon)

Multistrike (Common)

Here are the kinds of runes that I always keep.

  1. Triple Offensive Stat on Rage, Destruction, and Assault runes.
  2. Triple Defensive Stat on Life, Protection, and Speed runes.
  3. Double Attack Speed or Single Attack Speed with two relevant stats on any rune.
  4. Two relevant stats on Special Runes (World Boss, Guild Battle, Arena). You can afford to be more lenient here since they're pretty hard to get.

Here are some sample Rune setups for the generic archetype when starting out. Triple stat is the best, but having 2 of the recommended substat is good enough.

Tank

4 Protection, 2 Life

1,2,3 - HP

4,5 - HP Recovery

6 - Multistrike

We're using Protection runes here because they're only really useful on tanks, so you'll have a surplus of them with good stats. There are way better combinations with special runes.

Healer

4 Speed, 2 Life

1,2,3 - HP

4,5 - HP Recovery

6 - Multistrike

We're using Speed runes here to increase the healing output from S1, which is the skill that we're gonna use the most. Healers also have Multistrike bonus on their talents so they'll end up with a pretty high Multistrike.

Damage Dealer (Attack)

4 Rage, 2 Life

1,2 - Crit Chance > HP

3 - Multistrike > Counterattack > HP

4 - ATK

5 - ATK > Counterattack

6 - ATK > Crit Chance

Damage Dealer (Critical Damage)

4 Destruction, 2 Assault

1,2 - Crit Chance > Crit Damage > HP

3 - Multistrike > Counterattack > HP

4 - ATK

5 - ATK > Counterattack

6 - ATK > Crit Chance >Crit Damage

You can discern what kind of damage dealer an attack or hybrid hero is by looking at their kit.

Some heroes will have a specific build based on their kit. Here are a few examples.

Taiyo (PvP)

4 Speed, 2 Multistrike

1,2 - Attack Speed > Crit Damage

3 - Multistrike > Counterattack

4 - ATK

5 - ATK > Counterattack

6 - Multistrike

Amon (PvP)

4 Life, 2 Taunt

1,2 - HP

3 - EVA > HP

4 - EVA > HP Recovery

5 - EVA > HP Recovery

6 - Multistrike

Nikita (PvP)

4 Rage, 2 Multistrike

1,2 - Crit Chance > HP

3 - Multistrike > Counterattack

4 - ATK

5 - ATK > Counterattack

6 - ATK > Multistrike

E.)Talents

Don't bother chasing for 3 star talents at the beginning because it might not be the best one for that specific hero, or you might want to start out with PvE talents and change it into PvP talents later on.

Tank

  1. Level 50 - Fortified Armor is the way to go. Elemental Supression's mitigation potential is immense but only covers the element you're weak to. Confidence's utility can't beat the raw stats the other two options give so don't choose this one.
  2. Level 52 - A choice between Gladiator's Technique for PvP and Kiai for PvE. Thornmail's reflect isn't relevant enough to change the flow of a battle.
  3. Level 54 - I can't see tanks dealing damage in our current patch right now. If ever an offensive tank does come along, Elemental Enhancement will be the choice as 10% Attack from Weapon Mastery in an already low attack hero is pretty poor. Supression is the clear choice here.
  4. Level 56 - Again, dealing damage isn't a tank's role. But if ever it does change, you have a choice of dealing more damage in PvP or PvE. But for now, Comrade in Arms is the only good option here.
  5. Level 58 - Supreme Shield is the clear choice. 15% Counterattack can be a viable option when a tank with a really good S1 gets released.

Healer

  1. Level 50 - I would always go for 20% Multistrike over 20% Counterattack. The only time I can see Counterattack being relevant on a healer is in Guild Battle Defense. The healing over time isn't good enough to be considered an option.
  2. Level 52 - Fortified Armor has the the most use across all content. Elemental Supression may be specific, but it can mean the difference of life and death against AI battles in PvP. More damage from Brand looks enticing, but doesn't really add much. It easily gets removed in PvP and by Bosses whose turns come faster.
  3. Level 54 - Same with tanks, supports aren't meant to deal damage even if they have significantly more attack. Weaken is the obvious choice here since it acts as a pseudo team-wide damage buff by reducing your target's DEF.
  4. Level 56 - Graceful Covenant over the two other offensive options is the clear choice here.
  5. Level 58 - The PvE or PvP mitigation gives more consistent survival stats overall as the healing talent doesn't really proc enough to be relevant.

Attack

  1. Level 50 - Weapon Mastery with the flat 20% ATK bonus is the clear choice amongst the options. Element Enhancement, on the other hand, is the clear winner if you're planning to use your hero for a specific content. The Heal on S3 is irrelevant.
  2. Level 52 - A choice between PvP or PvE damage increase. Sharp Energy doesn't do quite enough do warrant being chosen over a consistent damage increase.
  3. Level 54 - Fortified Armor will always be a solid choice since it's always active against any situation. Element Supression, on the other hand, gives better, but specific, survival stats to an Attack Hero who doesn't have enough starting DEF to work with anyway. Burning Weapon is the only offensive option in this selection. I would only get it on heroes who have very high Multistrike and Counterattack like Cain or Cynthia.
  4. Level 56 - A choice between PvE or PvP mitigation, and a damage buff. Mitigation is still definitely the safest choice but the 30% Attack buff is a significant amount. Although, mitigation would still be the better choice because a dead hero can't deal damage anyway.
  5. Level 58 - Critical Strike Chance has a hard cap of 75%. It is also the clear choice because it is way harder to stack and Critical Strike Damage is useless if you don't crit in the first place anyway. Penetration is a bit niche since you're not really facing Shields or Damage Immunity in every situation.

Hybrid

  1. Level 50 - Critical Strike Chance has a hard cap of 75%. It is also the clear choice because it is way harder to stack and Critical Strike Damage is useless if you don't crit in the first place anyway. I would always pick Planned Attack, even in a Support Hybrid. Shadow Curtain doesn't really do much, and doesn't always work.
  2. Level 52 - Weapon Mastery with the flat 15% ATK bonus is the clear choice amongst the options. Element Enhancement, on the other hand, is the clear winner if you're planning to use your hero for a specific content. Flowing Poison doesn't really do enough to be relevant.
  3. Level 54 - A choice between PvE or PvP Mitigation. Shock is an amazing debuff but doesn't do enough to warrant being chosen over mitigation.
  4. Level 56 - Fortified Armor is the obvious choice for Support Hybrid. Element Suppression can be chosen for more specific content. Payback, on the other hand, is a solid choice for Attack Hybrid, giving you a total of up to 55% Critical Strike Chance from raw stats and passives alone, not including character specifics.
  5. Level 58 - A choice between PvE or PvE damage increase. Adrenaline, on the other hand, is an amazing choice for Support Hybrids, allowing them to use their S2 and S3 more often.

F.)Spending

One Time

  1. Beginner Achievement Package for $10.
  2. White Knight Selector for $10 - Get Ramu.
  3. Dark Knight Selector for $10 - Get Deimos.

Monthly and Weekly Spending

  1. 25 days $5 package for 800 gems. Best value for money.
  2. Weekly $10 package for 110 gems, 20 dungeon tickets, and 30 stamina potions. 2nd best value for money.
  3. Monthly $10 package for 220 gems. 3rd best value for money. If you want to regularly spend on the game, I would stop here as the rest doesnโ€™t really have good value. Spending $55 month is like buying a triple A PS4 Title once a month.
  4. $50 Evolution Package for 540 gems, 35 5 star Evomon, and 60 4 star Evomon. You can buy this twice per week. The best value out of all the big bundles, and the most versatile in terms of usage. The value isn't that great compared to the first three, but if you really need gems, this is the package to get. I wouldn't recommend buying anything else.
  5. $80 Enhance Package for 940 gems, 7 SSR Enhancemon, and 5 SR Enhancemon. You can buy this once a week. I'd choose this over the Evolution package only if you're new and you want to max out a character ASAP in order to clear content.

G.)Author's Notes

If you've reached this far, thank you for taking the time to read this. I'll be adding more specific stuff in the future like advent guides, world boss mechanics, arena team comp, etc.
