Hi everyone, I’m 21 male and for about eight or nine months now my knee has been completely shot in regards to trying to do anything highly physical. About eight or nine months ago I was training to hopefully do the Boston Marathon. for about six weeks I was doing a steady 8 to 12 miles 5 days a week. There was never a set moment where something happened but out of the blue my right knee all the way down to like my toes goes completely numb. It’s not necessarily painful, but it’s almost like my leg just won’t do what I need it to and becomes like limp, if I stop and stretch, I maybe can go another 30 seconds before it starts again. I got an MRI 2 months ago and the orthopedic doctor said everything major structurally looked perfect, but there were some “Bone contusions involving the medial and lateral femoral condyles with a small amount of edema involving the subchondrol bone of the patella.” I need advice, I took a good 7-8 months off from any running or weight lifting with my legs. I’m not necessarily in any day-to-day pain, but if I say sit crisscross, my knee will get a horrible stinging pain. But then itll go away a few minutes later, if I’m standing on it to long it will hurt. Its terrible. I tried again the other day and for the first time in 7-8 months and same thing happened leg dead after 2 min. I don’t know what to do and running is my mental escape so I’m dying not being able to do it. And the orthopedic doctor I used was horrible and basically just told me cortisone or I’m screwed. I said definitely not doing cortisone as a healthy 21 year old. Any advice appreciated.
