How do you deal with lazy chefs/chefs that have lost their passion?
Post Body

Hi y’all, I’m posting here because I was wondering how other people have coped with lazy chefs/chefs who have lost their passion/desire to be in the kitchen. I’ve only been in the industry for about 3-4 years and I’ve noticed that this is a pretty consistent issue, which has been really annoying for me since I consider every day in the kitchen an opportunity to learn and to grow. Also, I’ve noticed this issue at small and big places.

Now, I realize that passion ebbs and flows, but I’m talking about a complete lack of interest to the point where they are more or less a hinderance to the rest of the team.

I mean my chefs now are CONSTANTLY on their phone, rarely wash their hands/change gloves, work SO fucking dirty, their plates are sloppy, etc.

Oh, and I constantly get the feeling that they don’t like me because of how much of a shit I give about my cooking and making sure all my shit is perfect.
