So it is finally happening..... After 13 years I am leaving the food industry. I started in college and worked my way from serving through BOH and into management for the last ten years. I am currently a kitchen manager and have been with my current corporate gig for 5 years. I have worked for my boss for 8 years. I am not leaving on bad terms but just feel I need to put my family and myself first and stop sacrificing every night and weekend to the business. What do you all consider an appropriate amount of time for a notice? I am undecided on 2 weeks or one month. The new position is giving me the option and there is no real benefit to me for staying longer. I just feel I owe it to my boss, or maybe that is just the guilt I feel. Any help from others that have been in a similar situation would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advanced.
