So I lurk here, am a kitchen manager, and spend most of my reddit time poking around /askculinary. Serious question- how do you adapt or work around the owners hiring people (who may be genuinely good people) who speak damn near ZERO English. Their credentials check out, and honestly I am not trying to start a political argument, but this is rather difficult. Do you learn more Spanish? Find the 10 free seconds you have and try like hell to teach them English? How the heck do you explain a complex task like the proper way to cut and serve smoked brisket? Or basic food safety? This is driving me nuts. plz halp. am dying.
