Optics question for a new prep cook
Post Body

I just picked up a part-time prep-cook job and so far I’m enjoying it and getting plenty of knife practice.

However, I find the provided knives to be really uncomfortable and are starting to form a blister, causing some mild trigger finger/thumb, etc.

I guess my question is, if I bring in my own knife that’s fits better in, how badly are my balls going to get busted?

Will I seem pretentious or snobby? I realize that part of this process is building callouses but I don’t want to be halfway through chopping onions and have a blister pop. That sounds both unsanitary and stingy.

Or am I just way overthinking this?
