They told me over the phone it’s for a graveyard shift, specifically 2am to 10am. Is that normal? I’ve only ever worked restaurant hours before, and the earliest of those were 6 am. What sort of duties would such a position at such early hours entail?
They also told me over the phone it would be for sauté and grill, primarily. I’m guessing it would be mostly prep work and then cooking for the latter few hours? Potentially buffet style?
Edit: I misheard over the phone. Apparently it’s 2pm to 10pm. There’s no pastry program yet, but the head chef was happy to know I was also from a pastry background, so there’s hope yet. The job will include a paid card for public transportation and an end of the year loyalty bonus, as well as a generous health package and competitive 401k.
