I have a 67" x 47" (frame size) print (photo mechanical reproduction I think) of HR Oakman postcard Of an aerial view of Fort Henry. Oakman is from Peterborough and he did many aerial view postcards around Ontario. Judging by the cars, it was done in the 1950s. Story goes this giant print hung in the beer store on Princess Street.
I can't find anything about this specific print on Google. Does anyone know anything about it or remember seeing it in the beer store to verify the story.
It's covered in varnish and I'm guessing a professional clean up would be way more then I can pay. People will probably tell me not to do anything to it. Is there anything I can do that cleans maybe just a little but is low risk for messing up?
Also curious if it is worth anything, not that I can ant to sell. The frame alone is probably worth something because it is real wood and huge.
Also, let me know if there is a better community to post my many questions in. Also, I do believe Queens has a few HR Oakman.
