Kingdom is such an awesome, awesome manga! I haven't felt like this since.... forever! Anyway, this prompted me to do a little research as to how Sei conquered the other states, and how I think things will unfold in Kingdom.
First conquest of ZHAO ~Kanki's crushing defeat against Riboku~
History:
Ousen, Kanki and Yotanwa invade Zhao, achieve a crushing victory and conquers 9 castles.
Afterwards, Kanki and Zhao General Kochou (TBA) were at war in Heiyou (Ping Yang). Kanki wins this war and beheads 100,000 Zhao soldiers.
Kanki's army proceeds north and engages Riboku in battle.
Kanki suffers a crushing defeat, betrays Qin and goes to Yan in hiding.
Predictions in Kingdom:
Rigan castle which was already shown in the manga is likely one of the 9, and will probably fall to Kanki.
The battle at Heiyou is most likely the reason why the author gave Kanki such a personality, as his sadistic nature truly comes to play here.
Could General Kochou who Kanki engages in Heiyou be the last of the 3 Generals of the Heavens?
There's actually a possibility that Kyoukai gets promoted to General after this first conquest of Zhao (since in history, it states that Kyoukai, Yotanwa and Ousen were the generals who led the second conquest of Zhao)
With Kanki betraying Qin, one of the slots of Qin's 6 generals will be vacated.
OR, Kanki was exiled and ordered never to come back after his antics
Conquest of Han ~First state to go down in the unification of China~
History:
Qin general Tou conquers the weak state of Han, thus dissolving it as a state
Predictions in Kingdom:
- Possibility of Ouhon and Mouten becoming generals
Second conquest of ZHAO ~Riboku's death~
History:
As Qin struggles to defeat Riboku, Rishi then conspires to defeat the Zhao general.
Rishi and his men started spreading a rumor that "Riboku is scheming to revolt against the Zhao King", which was believed by the King. He then orders Riboku to give up his title as General, which Ri Boku refused to do so as he was engaged in war against Qin. Enraged, the king arrests Riboku and executes him.
With the death of Riboku, Qin's Ousen, Yotanwa and Kyokai proceed to conquer Zhao, and succeeds.
Predictions in Kingdom:
Could Shin be under Kyokai's command in this conquest?
Shin defeats Houken and gets promoted to general
Neither Yotanwa or Kyokai are talked about again in history, so either Yotanwa returns to the mountains or Kyokai marries Shin and retires so Shin takes the vacant spot. (5 of the 6 generals at this point are possibly Tou (?), Mouten or Shin, Ouhon, Ousen, Moubu and either Kyoukai or Yotanwa. )
First conquest of Yan ~Assassination attempt on Sei~
History:
Yan's Taishitan (TBA) plots an assassination on Sei. He sends a man called Keika (Jing Ke, TBA) to attempt this, as Sei grants him an audience for bringing the head of Han O Ki (according to popular belief, it seems Han O Ki=Kanki however, there is a character called Han O Ki who appears in chapter 409) but his assassination attempt ends in failure.
Enranged, Qin sent forth Shin and Ouhon as reinforcements to help Ousen who was then engaged in war against Yan to finish the conquest.
However, Yan's King and Taishitan escape to Ryotou (Liaodong)
Predictions in Kingdom:
Kanki could very well be behind the assassination attempt. The theory that Kanki and Han O Ki are the same person seems very popular in the world, however, Han O Ki already appears as a general in Chapter 409. There's a very huge possibility that Kanki is pulling the strings in this assassination attempt, as he probably holds a grudge against Qin after he was defeated against Riboku and was exiled?
Shin could very well be one of the 6 Generals of Qin at this time, as he is said to have been together with Ousen in the conquest.
Conquest of Wei ~Ouhon takes center stage~
History:
Qin advance to Wei with overwhelming military strength, but struggled at Dailiang as they lost 1/3 of their total forces. However, Ouhon succeeds in conquering Dailiang by marine warfare.
Predictions in Kingdom:
Gohoumei's last stand, most likely.
Ouhon racks up a major achievement, much to the ire of Shin.
Conquest of Chu ~Shin's massive defeat and Shoheikun's betrayal~
History:
As Qin were about to set forth to conquer Chu, Sei asks Shin how many soldiers they would need. Shin answers "200,000 is enough", whereas Ousen said that they would need 600,000.
Sei thinks that Ousen has grown old and has lost his edge, thus giving Shin the nod to lead the conquest to Chu, together with Mouten.
However, Shin and Mouten suffer a crushing defeat against the great general Kouen (TBA).
Sei, shocked at the defeat, visits Ousen who has already retired from his post as a general and begged him to take the front lines once again.
Ousen takes his army of 600,000 and successfuly defeats Kouen via an ambush. Together with Moubu, he takes the Chu king as prisoner.
Afterwards, Kouen took action to make Shouheikun who is of Chu descent as the new king of Chu. However, Shouhekun later on dies in war against Ousen and Moubu. Chu is conquered.
Predictions in Kingdom:
Shin embarrassingly loses against Kouen. There's a huge possibility that he loses a lot of comrades, loses trust from everyone and goes in danger of losing his place as one of the 6 generals.
Ousen wins vs. Kouen. Shin will probably make up for his huge blunder here.
Ousen, Moubu vs. Shouheikun will most definitely be a battle of the feels T_T
Second Conquest of Yan ~Possibly the last great war towards the unification of China?~
Shin, Ouhon and Mouten chase after the King of Yan and Taishitan who ran away to Ryotou (Liaodong).
The King of Yan beheads Taishitan and offers the head as a present to Ei Sei, and as a means of apologizing for the assassination attempt. He was however, arrested leading to the fall of Yan.
Predictions in Kingdom:
- Maybe Kanki becomes Yan's last general and battles Shin, Ouhon and Mouten (if Kanki was indeed involved in the assassination attempt. The conquest of Qi probably won't develop into a war, and this is most likely the last huge battle in Kingdom)
Conquest of Qi ~Shin, Ouhon and Mouten finish it off~
Qin and Qi were in a truce, but Shin, Ouhon and Mouten still proceed to conquer Qi. Thanks to Qin's machinations, Qi does little to oppose and hands over the country to Qin.
Predictions in Kingdom:
Shin, Ouhon and Mouten finish it off
China is unified
Some questions;
Qin's 6 generals, and how Yotanwa or Kyoukai goes out of the picture. Also Tou as there's no mention of him after his conquest of Han.
Still unclear as to who Shin will end up with... Ten or Kai.
So the last boss of Kingdom is... Kanki? Or Shouheikun.
Interested to see how they portray Shin's defeat against Chu, and how he recovers from that
Hope you all enjoyed this post and cheers~!
