Hey there. I’ve posted a few times and gotten some responses. The problem is, the level of engagement. One person started with “ASL”. Now granted I didn’t have my location in there, but my age and gender are right in the post. One person said “Cool” when I said I was in New England; and then nothing else.
Is conversation a lost thing? Do folks really prefer monosyllabic exchanges? I’m not looking for paragraphs, but give me a little to work with and I’ll do the same.
What am I looking for? Just someone to discuss life with. Family, career, hobbies, pets, good, whatever. Maybe you have kids; we can talk about kids. Maybe you’re just starting college; hey that’s exciting, we can talk about that. You have geeky hobbies? Get crazy about telling me all about it. You want old and outdated advice? Hit me up.
What I am not looking for: talking to someone and then they say “Hey, I actually have an account somewhere else... Let’s chat there.” No. I’ve got nothing against work, but I’m not here for that. Thanks.
How about, I’ll treat you like an actual human being with thoughts, aspirations, history and interests; and you do the same for me? Deal? If so, hit me up.
Edited because my humor got me autoflagged. It wasn’t bad, but maybe I hit a keyword I wasn’t supposed to.
