Part vent post, part looking for advice postā¦.
Brought my 22 Telluride in to the dealer I purchased it from for an oil change and 4 new tires. Also has the air filters and wiper replaced at the dealers suggestion after the multi-point inspection. No issues physically or mechanically other than tire wear when I dropped it off. 44k miles on it.
Waited at the dealership for about 5 hours, and as I got in to drive away I noticed a 2-3 foot long crack in the windshield on the passenger side, from then window molding out to the center of the windshield. Service advisor didnāt notice it, none of the techs apparently said anything, and itās not documented anywhere as being cracked at the time of drop off. Service manager was pretty standoffish and basically threw his hands up saying āwe didnāt do itā and he has no idea how it wouldāve happened.
I have glass coverage but itās a $500 deductible and I know for a fact it wasnāt cracked when I dropped it off. Service manager is supposedly going to work with the GM to review the camera footage. One thing I thought was crazy - they apparently donāt document the physical condition of the vehicles before working on them? That seems to be a huge liability issue since now itās my word against thereās as to who had possession of the vehicle when the damage occurred. Also, a āmulti-point inspectionā didnāt catch a 3 foot crack in the windshield?!
Anyone have any experience with damage while in the dealers care? Iām holding off on filing a claim until I hear back from the GM, but Iām gonna be on their asses tomorrow to get an answer. If they donāt inspect it, I have no idea how they can say they didnāt cause the damage.
