I just bought an expensive loud bell! My underwhelming experience with K4 and Keychron support.
Post Body

Necessary preamble: I am not posting to hate on the board, but only to share my experience. Your experience might vary. Also you might not care about my particular problem.

Keychron K4 v2 ticks a lot of boxes for me. It is good looking and provides a couple of nice features that are difficult to come by in a budget board. The most interesting one for me is that it provides a 96%/1800 configuration, which is difficult to come by and an absolute priority for me. The other contender was a Leopold FC980m, which is a bit more premium, but was difficult to ship to my country. I went for the alu case/hot-swap version and bought myself some cherry brown to go with: 146 USD with shipping.

The problem: The board is mostly fine. This is not a review: you can find many on the internet. It will suffice to say that that the finishing is acceptable for the price point. My only and big complaint is that the board as a very loud reverberating noise, like a cow bell. I think people refer to this as a 'spring ping'. The sound is extremely annoying and it is discernible with different switches (Gateron blue and Cherry brown). It is especially loud at the center of the board. For me it is a complete dealbreaker. I cannot listen to my thoughts while typing on the keyboard.

The underwhelming experience: I believed that I had a problem with my own keyboard. Sometimes the PCB is not well soldered or mounted. 'No biggie', I though, 'we'll fix it with Keychron'. I contacted the support, which is admittedly rather responsive. I sent them proof of the extremely loud spring ping with and without keycaps and with different switches. I also padded the interior with foam and went all the way to dampen the ring ping (the only thing I did not try was lubing, but I'd avoid it on mx brown).

After watching my videos, they maintained that it ''works as intended", implying that every board is like this. I don't know about that. What they really meant is that I have a legal right to return it (I am within 14 days from receiving it), but they won't provide any support to do so, nor they would fix the problem. If I want to ship it back to get a refund, since the warehouse is located in Hong Kong, it's a minimum of 60USD.

TL;DR Be aware: you might purchase a loud cow bell as a keyboard. Make sure you are okay with it, because Keychron will maintain that it is their intention to produce cow bells and sending it back at your expenses might be prohibitive.
