Best nail place?

I'm new to getting my nails did. I've had them done once, and didn't enjoy the experience. I need to find another place, or places, to try til I find "my" place. Assuming I even wanna keep up with it (the pedi was cool though).
Where have you had a good experience? What made it good? What should I look out for (good ir bad)?
I live in Key West and don't have a car, so looking for places in Key West I can ideally get to by bike from midtown.
