How do I test equipment, for test contracts, on kerbal space program enhanced edition for the PS4?

It used to be clicking “square” on the specific piece of equipment during flight, and there would be a “blue test tab” to click once you met the contracts flight requirements.
I just started playing again today, after at-least a year, and the test buttons originally accessible this way appear to have been removed. I went ahead and just manually activated the equipment when contract conditions were met, and it did not satisfy the contract.
Any suggestions?
