So I'm a big fan of kdot obviously. But a fan of drake as well. And I didn't really want either guy to come out looking too bad. And I can be wrong of course, but this feels like the end to me. And in the coming weeks alot of streamers, podcasters, and influencers are gonna push a "they tied" narrative. Or that kendrick is disqualified bc he lied. But imo, and this is me being as unbiased as possible, I think kendrick lapped him. I think drake came into this overconfident, and thought kendrick was going to come on some artistic shit that wouldn't hit with the masses. And that his star, influence, and more straightforward bars would land better. But kendrick came in with a plan and strategy. Euphoria sets the stage. He doesn't show his hand too much, but he begins to paint a picture of someone who has identity issues, can't be trusted, hates women, and is using the culture. And himself as someone who's admitting he's failed before, is taking up for Pharrell and the culture, a man who puts his family before rap. But I think the winning move honestly was 6:16. If drake had released FM Thursday, I think it hits much harder. Bc 616 introduced the idea of moles in drakes circle. And how even his own ppl want him to bleed. But again kendrick taking the moral high ground and being the godly man is willing to warn him of this. Which allows MTG to hit as hard as it did accompanied by the photo. It gives credibility to everything dot is saying. Do I think drake has a secret daughter? Prbly not. Do I think he's a master manipulator? Idk, but I know that kendrick thru 3 songs built a world where he is the one with a code and has more cred and that drake is essentially the worst person in the world who can't be trusted. I guarantee u even if we never see a daughter(and I don't think we will lol) , ppl will be asking drake where she is for the rest of his career. And then on Not Like Us said I know that shit last night got dark but it's ok for us to dance on his grave. And the heart part 6 made me feel genuinely bad for drake. It felt like someone trying to save face. He got out rapped, came up against someone who showcased his art to the world, put out 4 distinctly different songs, and just always felt 2 steps ahead of him this entire week. He did the time stamp before drake did the heart. Drake doing the long track with beat switches. Just always felt like he was trying to keep up. But we learned there are truly levels to this.
