I know I know, we're talking about millionaires making diss tracks against each other. But still, these guys really didn't have to do this. They have nothing to prove. One is a commercial success who's dominated the mainstream for over a decade plus. And the other is arguably the most critically acclaimed artist the genre has ever produced. Kendrick could've easily just continued to pop up, drop an album, eat the praise and ride the boogeyman aura for the rest of his career and ppl would've said no one ever wanted to try him. And drake didn't really have to respond. I mean he did. But if he didn't it would've been whatever, people would've moved on, and dot would have another control moment. But he didn't. He really came outside and said alright let's settle this once and for all. They were already solidified but this to me, puts them in a whole new stratosphere. It's the big 2 and then a few levels down its Cole. And I hate saying that bc I love cole and really felt like this could've been a moment he could have seized. Drop a couple of dope diss tracks then the fall off. But it is what it is and I respect his decision. .
