Seems like episode discussion threads died down halfway through the season, so let's discuss everything through the finale here.
This show has heart, and most of the jokes land... that's really all I want from a sitcom, so I enjoy this show. I watch SNL and lots of scenes feel somewhat like SNL sketches. Nice to see Thompson and Redd outside of SNL. The only nitpick I have is that there seems to be a lot of overacting... I know some sitcoms are just like that, but it's not my thing. It's far from my favorite show, but I still like it.
Kenan is such a likable character, but Mika really steals the show for me. I was definitely invested in the will-they-won't-they storyline. Them both denying their feelings in unison in front of the rest of the fam was hilarious in the finale! I think with the way they left things in the finale, they must have a longer arc planned for them, which is exciting if true.
Kenan down in the dumps, trying to support his often difficult and unappreciative girls (and other family members as well) made me feel so bad for him. He needs to heed his own "self care" advice he gave his mom.
My opinion of Gary improved a lot as the show went on... I like the character and his role in the family.
That's all I have for now... what are your thoughts?
