A month and a half ago, my physical therapist noticed that my surgery scar, from a spinal fusion this past June, had become a keloid. First pic 1.5 months ago when it was discovered, second pic today. I want to do everything I can to make it look better AND to prevent it getting worse. Steroids are contraindicated for me but the dermatologist I saw suggested 5-FU injections on their own, my surgeon suggested cutting it out, my PT seems to think he could help by doing scar massage though Iām concerned that could aggravate it. Any and all advice and guidance would be SO appreciated. Thank you!
Get pressure on it for as long as you can. Daily and nightly silicone sheeting. scar massage will definitely help. Do NOT cut it out
