Today I went to see my keloid specialist. He prescribed me this medicine that is suppose to enhance the effect of the 5fu drug. He told me to start taking the drug the day of injection. Has anyone done this before ? I forgot the name of the drug, if anyone wants to know I’ll let you know when I pick it up.

I just googled 5FU and Leocovorin and a bunch of stuff comes up. Seems harmless and like you describe, sort of a no brainer really.
Have you done 5FU injections previously? I’ve had them and found that the 5FU alone does little, but when combined with kenalog and hyaluronidase it works really well.
Thank you. So to be clear, is this injected with the 5FU or taken orally?
EDIT: looks like you can do either and as the OP says really is a 5FU booster, meaning it makes the 5FU stay in the system longer to destroy more of the “keloid cells”. Interesting and wondering why Dr.’s are just now recommending this... It’s been known for close to 10 years (at least according to articles on Google).
