I grew up with Keeshonds and I love them as a breed. Wonderful dogs. I got my puppy Dutch at 8 weeks old, he’s now 6 months and neutered and I’ve had some good moments and a lot of frustration. Most of it centered around potty training, specifically urination. He CHUGS water like he’s never had a drop in his life to the point I’ve had to water restrict him. I’ve tested him for urinary issues, twice - I’m also a vet. He holds it PERFECTLY for 8-9 hours overnight! But during the day sometimes he doesn’t go 2 hours without an accident and gives zero warning that he has to go.
I’m trying to be positive but frankly this combined with being quite vocal and demanding when I do anything with my older dog (10yr old Aussie), it’s making it very hard to bond with him and makes me feel like a failure.
Any help or comforting words would be appreciated
