Adrift in a sea of grey
Searching for any who'd stay
Lending their ears to my sighs
Opening their hearts to my lies
A pieceless puzzle; a hollow crown
Made of twigs and sticks from the ground
The smell of the Jacaranda in bloom
A time before I knew of my doom
To recede into the consciousness of all
Or a perpetual, blackened fall
The weight of mortality we can feel
The taste of blood makes it real
Like being swallowed by an ocean
Incense burning in pious devotion
A hope that one day I'll no longer be blind
And bear witness to the whole of humankind
