Intuition interacting with you as a writer

Post Body

Hello! šŸŒŠ Iā€™m a fantasy writer working on a small novella and Iā€™m struggling with the fact that it just doesnā€™tā€¦ feel like the right time/a good time to write.

My writing comes out of a deep sense of comfort and relaxation and being/feeling safeā€¦the feeling builds up inside me and I let it out by imagining worlds and lives.

Iā€™m fighting a big stress battle right now. Iā€™m going through something in my career that will be the biggest evaluation with the biggest impact that Iā€™ll have gone through in fourteen years.

Incidentally, the very topic of the evaluation is hitting some of my deepest trauma so Iā€™m constantly triggered. Iā€™m taking both meds and helpful supplements, doing visualisations and keeping my reading on uplifting/wholesome stories to keep my emotions on track/keep them from spiralling.

Iā€™m hoping to use this group of empathic (writers have empathy, right, in order to get into our charactersā€™ minds?) people to find some similar minded thoughts on my writing right now.

Iā€™m also really reeling in a positive-impact sort of way from coming back to my story after a long time where I felt like I had no place to go with my story, only to make a major realisation about something profoundly foundational to my character, which upended my whole perspective on the weird limitations I was sensing with my book.

I feel spooky, like ā€œspooky action at a distanceā€ (quantum entanglement); things keep happening with my story and with me and Iā€™m trying most of all to be true to that voice that gives me glimmers of something.

How does intuition interface with your writing? And with your keeping-on-writing?

I tag this as a writing prompt because I donā€™t want conventional advice on itā€”I want to see where these thoughts take you, that I might surf awhile in someone elseā€™s mind, and regain mine more clearly.
