hi folks! i'm interested in getting back into kayaking after a decade as a lubber. i have a 6yo daughter i'd like to take out with me and i'm trying to decide on a first purchase and don't really have the option to try before i buy. i'll be out on calm lakes and easy rivers.
my biggest question is should i get a tandem or a standard and child and tow her until she can paddle on her own? for reference, if i get a tandem, it will likely be the advanced elements elite. since i'll be doing all the paddling either way, how much more work / awkwardness would the tandem vs a tow be? the other question is futureproofing - once she's big enough to paddle on her own, is the tandem then effectively useless?
thanks for the consideration!
