I recently picked up a 2008 Vulcan classic and have some questions. I am new to v twins and cruisers so I am uncertain of some things. I have an issue with backfiring when I down shift or even let off throttle. I know it’s fuel injected and It does have cobra pipes and previous owner mentioned it has a tuner that tunes the air every millisecond or something like that. I put 93 octane only in the bike. I wonder if the gaskets may have been re-used. Also, as mentioned in new to cruisers it’s not chain driven and has a rear gear shift for your heel. It seems when I shift it’s delayed and cuts power because the motor goes quiet. I also am probably lacking knowing how to ride it and what to cruise it at in what gear. There’s obviously no rpm gauge so I don’t know if v twins are supposed to be rode at higher rpm’s while cruising or whichever it may be. Any help is appreciated
