The FGC community has some pretty messed up people. We have people who have been accused of beating their wives, people who've been accused of harassing women, homophobia, transphobia, the whole thing. You know what we do with them though?
We get rid of them. Not everyone's happy with the decision, but in the long run it ensures that our competitions are drama free, we get representation in the community, and like in the case of Sonic Fox, for as for much fun as we make off him, we have a non-binary furry POC as a champion across multiple games.
Meanwhile, in the smash community, you've got people defending players who have fucking documented reports off preying on minors, grooming minors, and likely statutory rape.
There is a substantial number of people who are still looking at the torrent of accusations that have been proven, and crying out about how these are problems with individuals, not the community, even though there are hundreds of individuals named that are pillars of the community. What the fuck is wrong with them?
