Bare with me please as this may be a lengthy post. If you wanna skip to INTERPRETATION BELOW.

I will start by saying that after listening to Ghost Town for the first time when it dropped it immediately spoke to me in a way no other song has. At that time I knew that song had purpose and meaning beyond anything Ye has ever produced. I listen to that song every day. Im dead ass serious EVERY DAY I will listen. Yesterday however I had my ah ha moment were Ghost Town completely clicked at least for me and my life. Anyways lemme know what you think.

INTERPRETATION

TWO SAMPLES. The intro samples are there to lay the foundation of the song.

"Some day I wanna wear a Starry Crown" and "Some Day, I wanna lay day down like god did on Sunday."

Keep in mind Ye was on many psychedelic journeys when this album was made. Any way. The premise of the song is Ye one day hopes that he to becomes a god (we all have that ability). In order to do that all seven versions of Kanye must complete their levels in their existence.
The number Seven is important on so on many levels but to shorten this a bit think days in the week. Seven days each day representing a version of self. Day seven all versions have completed their level and can rest. The Album Ye has seven songs. The root word Ye means self or you. Ok hopefully your following along because shits about to blow your mind.
The premise of the song is Ye completing this level in order to join his higher self.

CUDI VERSES and VOICE

Cudi represents the higher version of Kanye. His words have meaning. Kanye higher self is talking to Kanye earth version and says.

"I've been trying to make u love me, but everything I try just takes you further from me."

The higher self is talking a telling Kanye that he is there with him to guide and help him but he is rejecting his higher self through his free will.

KANYE VERSE.

Kanye verse is Earth Kanye communicating back to higher self and is acknowledging his actions or inactions and let's higher self know he will join him eventually.

GIRL VERSE.

Here's where shit gets next level powerful. Her verse is the realization, acceptance and merging of the two self's. When this happens Kanye is able to shed all the weight and baggage from this existence and is once a child seeing the world through infant eyes free of the bull shit.

"I let go of everything I know and nothing hurts anymore I feel kind of free. We still the kids we used to be"

The two Kanyes are reconnected and his life feels so amazing that he need to pinch himself to make sure he's not dreaming or dead because he has shed all that fear, hatred, doubt etc

CONCLUSION

Im smart enough to know this is my interpretation and I'm seeing it as it pertains to my life and my personal psychedelic journey. In the end my favorite song of all time taught me what I've been missing or failing to see in my own life
