More reasons I don’t trust Kaiser

Post Body

  1. Went to the ER they took labs, which revealed normal results, then they proceeded to prescribe me an antibiotic for a UTI when I had no symptoms of a UTI, never had a UTI in my life, and all my labs were normal.

Called another Kaiser physician after 5 days and he said they failed to do a urine culture to confirm if I had an UTI and he said it didn’t seem like I had one because all my labs were normal and I had no symptoms. He also said he didn’t know why they prescribed it for 10 days because he said even for simple UTIs which it didn’t seem like I ever had, they only prescribe for 3 days.

On top of this the ER physician prescribed me an antibiotic that should never be prescribed to someone who is allergic to Amoxicillin or Penicillin. It’s listed as a cross allergy. So I took this antibiotic without having an actual infection for 5 days and had a reaction.

  1. The PCP, I have (after switching PCP at Kaiser) is a joke, she doesn’t seem to know how to read radiology images. They basically just look at what the tech. wrote on labs and repeat it over to you. This is the second PCP who is an actual joke. I’m convinced some of them just sit around send you for basic blood tests and then read you the results after. No investigation of symptoms - no analysis, nothing. It seems like they have no idea how to read or interpret imaging, or further look into results.

  2. My theory is that Kaiser has physicians that are deemed to not be at high standard because Kaiser does not pay there physicians well. I know they do not pay well enough because my family member who is a Neurosurgeon declined his offer to Kaiser several years ago citing he would never accept a job offer from them because they don’t pay there doctors “anything”.

  3. Some of there ER staff are contracted workers as stated by an employee there. You never know who you are going to get on call.

  4. Radiology in SoCal lies. When I request some imaging to be sent to me I have one guy say “hmm yeah I’ll send it over email either later today or next Monday, probably next Monday”. I know they are lazy and they can send me the imaging within 10 min. because I have had them send me the same imaging in under 10 min. if I complain. I proceed to then call them again on Monday and they say “oh it’s still processing, I’ll put it in Stat” then finally receive it in 10 min. I know it’s not “processing.” Someone is just being lazy and not doing there job.

  5. Kaiser is a coward because they have a arbitration process for KP members. This in and of itself is a red flag. They also delay care.

Comments

There are good doctors within Kaiser, you just have to find them.
