So funny story. I live in ARC.
This morning around 5 AM I woke up to a bonfire in the middle of my room. After standing there for a couple of minutes trying to figure out what all was in the bonfire, I remembered to wake up my girlfriend who was staying over and we shuffled everyone out of the dorm.
After about 2 hours of explaining to fire-people and KSU housing that the incident was my fault (poor heater placement, I'm the worst) I got relocated and am awaiting to find out what'll happen next in terms of punishment. The RA's on call said it would probably go under 'negligence' (they weren't all that sure) and I would have to take a fire safety course, however KSU could legally force me to pay for the damages. Typically room maintenance in ARC is free regardless of cause, but this is probably beyond that.
Do any of you know what I can expect to happen next, what KSU's policy is here, and how much money I might looking at in damages?
