Changing the difficulty of battles

So I'm currently sitting at a point where my highest level dinos are Priotrodon level 20 and a couple of level 30 golds.

I'm at 3500 indoraptor S-DNA and have 4 level 20 Indominus that I haven't evolved yet so as to not blow out the difficulty of the battles, which is based on highest level dino.

My question is, if I get up to a level 40 indominus (ferocity rating 11652) then evolve it to a level 10 indoraptor (ferocity rating 7061) then will the battles afterwards remain based around the level 40 indominus or revert down to the level of the indoraptor?
