Post Body

Boosts 2.0 has by and large made boosting more expensive. Where before 254 boosts were enough to take a dino to tier 6, now it only gets you 2.5 stats.

This means a much longer grind to acquire boosts during which we might change our minds on which dinos to boost as we change strategies or newer hybrids are release. To this end, Ludia has given us the ability to refund boosts at 50% cost. This is fine... but only when we’re the ones who made a boosting mistake or changed our minds.

As players, we have little indication of what the devs are thinking and that dino we decided to pour a big chunk of our boosts into might get hit with the nerf bat next patch and, through no fault of our own, we’ve lost half those boosts.

Simply put, we shouldn’t have to take the hit for unforeseen changes Ludia makes to the game. Therefore, for dinos Ludia nerfs or reworks, we should have a one week grace period after the patch during which we can fully refund any boosts the dinos have without penalty. This way, players aren’t punished for not being mindreaders and boosting becomes much less of a minefield.

This kind of grace period for a full refund is also standard in card games where devs are always tinkering with card values. At least in Hearthstone and Gwent, cards that are nerfed can be disenchanted/scrapped for full value for a time after the patch. Not implementing something similar here would just be malicious and would slowly drive the playerbase away as everyone is burned in turn.
