Hi
Planning ahead for the future. My aim is to save up enough for a house/car/wedding after F2 doing locum jobs as an F3 for x number of years. This would allow me to become financially independent and save a fair bit.
I then intend to eventually do GP as I think this route would max out my earnings in the long run. GPs earn as much as consultants on the NHS pay scale, so why on earth should anyone consider hospital medicine if money is a priority?
Does my reasoning make sense?
I'm also not sure how many F3 years I can do before being disqualified from GP training? Theoretically I'd want to locum for a good few years then once settled, start GP training.
I see this as a good plan to do well financially both in the short term out of uni as well as long term.
Any advice would be appreciated! (still a student!)
Thanks
