What might Jungian psychology say about individuals who, when discussing social issues, politics, and other topics, tend to assert that the average person is stupid?
This perspective generalizes others and seems to position the individual above the majority. It also appears angry to me. I wonder if, deep down, these individuals are afraid they are actually stupid. The interesting thing is, despite having a complex where I think I am stupid, I have never related to that sentiment. I don't generalize people as being stupid, instead I see them as human.
So, where might this attitude be coming from? In my mind, I'm drawing a connection from that sentiment to a general disgust with other human beings (which is fairly prevalent) and am also curious about that.
