I am sorry if this does not fit neatly anywhere and I am just getting more and more into Jung, so forgive any ignorance on my part. Also I don't mean to project, but it is something even pre Jung I had been thinking about.
First I want to say I am not against people expressing their sexuality, but I have noticed something that I find interesting.
I have seen people watch porn and in and of itself most the time it is benign. It probably is not the healthiest thing, but I am not here to talk about that. I was thinking more about social media thirst traps/Only fans. I think this is a bit different than say Pornhub that you go in, get your motor tuned, and get out. However, it seems with parasocial relationships, there is a worshipping element to it.The amount of time and effort that gets put into it is mind blowing and in a way seems like veneration (not too different than the Virgin Mary). To be more specific with Only fans, the subscriptions almost seem like an offering .
I am probably reading wayyy too much into this, as men like women, but at what point does infatuation/lust become possession? I don't mean to point out those two scenarios, but those seem more clingy/controlled more so than just a guy liking a girl, if that makes any sense.
