It's bad, it real damn fucking bad top to bottom, and so has been Gregory's writing in general, and I do think that this is largely because he actually hates jjk (there was whole talk about how it only became high school setting after publishers pressured him) But with that out of the way, by fucking god, swimming through this pile of fucking shit, a fucking ocean of just pure caca, there is one sliver of hope, promise of what Gege can do when the fucker gives a shit.

I can't say that this redeems the whole ending, and I don't care if Gregory is doing this just to set up Hein era spin off once he needs rent money, but I do know that this is good: fundamentally, this is a good scene. At a wrong time? Sure. But hey, it was a fucking lobotomy ride for a long time, so I will take what I can get - not even SukSuk's fan, but I just loved this scene, for both him and Mahito. It is also interesting because the panel at the bottom right suggests that Sukuna, at some point, might've tried to be good before going off; but regardless, this is it for me, I'll go unlobotomize myself now :)
