Not a journalist here, but I noticed that some online feature articles have interactive multimedia elements embedded into them such as videos playing in the background or images that change as you scroll down the page. Does anyone know how this is done?
I'm not tech savvy enough to understand how these pages were coded so I'd appreciate an explainer. Thanks!

I especially like the first one because it feels like you're watching a video and reading an article at the same time, and it gives the story a documentary feel.
