I'm slightly nervous because I'm not entirely pleased with the salary offered there, but at the same time I've not been offered the job yet. They wanted me to drive down to meet them all (I'm four hours away) but I told them zoom is better because I haven't been offered the job yet and I would have to rent a car to get there. As someone with a bachelor's degree in journalism and a year of experience in a politics and finances beat, what sort of pay do you think I should ask for? The minimum wage here is 13 an hour, and the range on offer is 30,000 to 35,000 salary (although they hinted they would go higher). I wanted to ask what the hours are usually and if I can speak with their employees, but I felt it would be impolite before being offered the job.
In addition to all of this, I am currently waiting on a response from a competitive masters program offering a stipend of 60,000 a year, which will only process my application in July. What should I do? Should I make it clear that I'm also waiting in this program?
