Communications or journalism?

Post Body

Hi! I am a college student looking to be a journalist when I’m out. That said, I am having a hard time deciding between communications and journalism as a major. So to all journalists here, what did you major in? Which do you think is better? Also, what kind of journalists are you?

Thanks so much!

Comments

Communications is not a favorable major. I work in journalism and my dad worked in marketing, both in nyc and both two industries communications is made for. I don’t think it would prepare you that well for journalism and my dad has said that he would rather hire like an English major any day over someone w a communications degree. It’s just kind of a wash degree that doesn’t have any specifications.
