I canāt stand when people say, āTime heals all woundsā. I think itās a lazy thing to say to someone who needs a coping mantra. I would argue we never heal completely from our losses or tragedyās in life. I donāt think the human life span is lived long enough to even become wise enough to learn how to completely heal. So, this is something I made up to explain pain to my friend last year.
Imagine a drop of red food coloring and a clear glass filled to the top 100% clear water. Imagine the water is the body and before the drop of red is pain. When the drop of āpainā hits it is potent and that is the beginning of that trauma. So, over time the body becomes diluted by that pain and it never is clear again. That person is forever changed so to say time heals all wounds is misleading. I think this will help some people view their traumas in a new way. I donāt think thereās anything wrong with not being able to heal because thereās opportunity to grow into wiser people who can pass on lessons learned.
I hope that analogy was easy to understand. Thanks.
