Someone suggested "If you believe Trump is sent by God, nail him to a cross, wait 3 days, and see what happens". Well, here's one response I can offer which might be worth something to a few people?
Well, look at Twitter and it's easy to see how "well" Trump bears his crosses.
But then, look at your own social media, or your own behavior, or all else failing, become aware of your hidden thoughts and desires, and tell me whether God sent *you* for the world, either?
I think you'll find reality is closer to something like, if it weren't for the hardness of the world and its unfairness and brutality, nobody would ever mature and become truly a "good" blessing. (Jordan Peterson - "Of course you're oppressed!")
I also think it's fair to say, Trump is sent by God (even if you take God to mean, whatever it is that generates/generated the universe) in the sense that he is the president we deserve. After the civil rights movement, we stopped at the level of government policy and failed to uproot the causes of racism, sexism, and greed in the culture. All we did was suppress it, and as happens with all suppressed aspects of either individual or group psychology; eventually it demands recognition. Trump and his supporters that have emerged out of hiding are that demand.
We can't get rid of our American societal "Shadow" (Jung) by simply suppressing and ignoring it. We have to integrate it by discovering what are the healthy expressions of the human psyche rooted in love and compassion that have gotten twisted into the negative expressions of greed, sexism, and racism which are rooted in fear and resentment. This is something I think the radical left is unwilling to recognize because pushing for real change under this model requires them to actually be correct in their understanding of the human psyche, and it also points to an end of the requirement for their progressive movements (which I'm convinced, deep down, they don't really want - the are addicted to the conflict).
We are beyond the realm of things social justice political movements can solve, and into the realm of things that only positive personal encounters and connections can solve. (Serge Bulgakov rightly made the claim that true societal change can only happen through the Church, which is essentially the same as saying it can only happen at the level of the cultural ideology).
