John Wick 3 set up what was supposed to be the story of John Wick and The King teaming up with each other, and presumably more characters from John’s past, both from previous movies, and new characters from John’s life as an assassin, to take down the High Table. John Wick 4 was supposed to be telling that story. But it didn’t. For some reason John changed his mind and wanted to earn his freedom, and for some unexplained reason, he was able to do that by killing a high up employee of the table? What?? There were massive plot holes, all which could have been avoided if the directors stuck with what was clearly supposed to be the plot when john wick 3 was made, but no, they had to open up the universe so they can make more money off the morons who will actually go watch the spin-offs. Open to hearing ideas or explanations I haven’t thought of or heard yet, but unfortunately I doubt my mind will be changed (thru no fault of my own).
